The Skipper's Line Star Teak range is used for the maintenance of tropical woods like teak, mahogany, iroko etc when it is not suitable to use a varnishing system, to withstand the impairing action of ageing due to exposure to sun, keeping the natural appearance of the wood. The system includes 3 products for maintenance and protection.

Removers
Fresh water should be applied to the wooden surface, the Star teak Cleaner should then be applied (can be diluted up to 3 times with water), evenly over the surface, allowing to stand for a few seconds. The wood should then be scrubbed with a brush (do not use wire brushes could cause staining by oxidization) removing the dirt, dust, blackening from the wood. The Star Teak Cleaner should then be rinsed off with plenty of fresh water.
It may be necessary to use the Star Teak Brightener after cleaning to renew the natural colour of the wood or remove blackening or greying caused by ageing.
Apply Star Teak Brightener on to the wet wooden surfaces evenly allowing to stand for a few minutes using a brush scrub the surface to increase the brightening action of the product, focusing on effected areas rinse off with plenty of fresh water and allow the surface to dry fully.
The application can be repeated if necessary.

Star Teak Sealer with UV filters
New Wood - The surface should be cleaned and dry. Sand with a fine abrasive paper, removing any sanding residue or dust from the surface. Apply 3-4 coat of Star Teak Sealer by brush or soft pad allowing 1-2 hours between coats to build up the protection and in cases of particularly dry wood further coats should be applied.
Old Wood - After the cleaning and brightening process has taken place and the wood is dry. Apply 3-4 coats of Star Teak Sealer by brush or with a soft pad allowing between 1-2 hours between coats to build up protection and where the wood is particularly dry apply further coats.
It is important to build up the coats of the sealer on the exposed areas especially on areas where the wood is dull and is subjected to wearing.
